Symptom of Addiction to Weight Loss Exercise

Weight loss fast and being fit need us to do exercise. Aside from being fit and healthy, exercise also helps in reducing the occurrences of drug experimentation and addiction because our body and mind in active state. But what if the one that helps in reducing these addiction occurrences turns out to be addictive?

Some of us might think that it is impossible. But the fact is exercise can also be addictive. Exercise is assumed to develop your total well-being but if there is addiction, it has a opposite effect.

How we shall know when there is addiction in exercise? Substance addiction has withdrawal symptoms, right? For example, you have been dependent on opiates then you decided to detoxify, you will have unsettled stomach or chills because your system is looking for the substance that has been in your system for quite a while. Same with exercise, if you have missed a session then you think that you’re in a serious stress, and then there is something not right here. Other indication is that you kept on exercising if you are under the weather or sick. This is not healthy because when you’re not a hundred percent, your body needs to take a break. Then again, if you feel in good physical shape then felt sick because you missed a session is another sign. You feel obliged to workout. Forced exercise is not the proper way towards fitness.

Workout should be amusing for you. If you feel that you are not enjoying it but just the obligation of doing so, then it is another sign. Another is if you feel that working out with others will just disturb your progress in working out. Exercise is better if done with groups than just by yourself.

Bad weather won’t stop you from your workout activity? This is another symptom of addiction to exercise. It is also dangerous because the possibility of meeting an accident while working out. Pushing yourself too hard is another symptom. You are disturbed that you will directly gain weight if you missed a session.

Another symptom is when you feel that workout is much more important than your work or family. You don’t have the time to do your responsibilities as a parent or a student. Not even caring about the more important things as long as you keep on working out and burning those fats.

Addiction to exercises can also sometimes lead to other psychological eating disorders. Because of your addiction, you analyze everything you eat. Your system is resisting the food because of your trepidation of gaining weight again. This can lead to anorexia or bulimia. Bulimia is when the food ingested is being thrown up to avoid weight gain.

You shall know that doing things excessively is not good. Exercise is good for your body yes, but overdoing it is not. Think of your health. If you think that you are having withdrawal symptoms by missing a session of exercise, there is a need to seek help and evaluation from the professionals. There is nothing improper with that.
